Dr. Shahzeidi
Dr. Shahzeidi is our Medical Director who holds board certifications in Pediatrics, Pediatric Pulmonology, and Sleep Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Shahzeidi was an Assistant Professor at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine and Director of the Pediatric Sleep Center. Dr. Shahzeidi joined the University of Miami in 2004 and developed the Pediatric Sleep Disorders Program.
He is a graduate of Howard School of Medicine and completed his fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at the Children’s National Medical Center and George Washington University in Washington, DC. Dr. Shahzeidi is the recipient of the Roland and Waldean Nickens Scientific Research Award from Howard University College of Medicine. He also received an award for scientific and academic achievement from Children’s National Medical Center.
Dr. Shahzeidi’s areas of expertise and research include pediatric sleep disorders and, in particular, insomnia caused by traumatic and other types of brain injuries. At Grand Health Institute, Dr. Shahzeidi interprets sleep studies to find the most effective treatment for distorted sleep architecture, which occurs commonly after brain injury, as well as other disorders.
